Calatagan, Sumilao, and Banasi Farmers' march to DLSU..
basically there are fighting for their lands and for the Congress and Senate to pass the CARPER Bill (CARPER==Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reform)
merong kasing pinass na law dati which is called the CARP.. (i think Pres. Cory or Ramos) that the government will allow our poor farmers to till government lands and then babayaran nila ito ng huloghulagan sa government for 10 years..
however, matatapos na yung said 10 years, and sapat lang yung kinikita nila para sa kanila, kaya gusto nila iextend ito..
kasi if ever hindi siya maextend, private companies will buy these lands and will convert it to resorts, ports, and for their mining businesses..
so ang mangyayari mawawalan sila ng pangkabuhayan, at domino effect din yun sa atin.. magmamahal ang produkto katulad ng mga gulay at prutas..
so they marched from their own provinces going to DAR(Dept of Agrarian Reform) and sa Congress at Senate..
one of their stops is here in DLSU..
sana patuloy po natin sila suportahan! :)
