Make a Wise Choice!

Make a Wise Choice!!!

Before everything else, I want to clarify some things first. THE CONTENT OF THIS BLOG IS NOT TO PUBLICIZE THE CANDIDATES OR TO SIRAAN ANG ISANG PARTY OR WHATEVER, I JUST WANT TO SAY MY COMMENTS AND OWN PERSONAL BELIEFS. PERIOD. OK?!

So yun nga, Its DLSU General Elections na nga for Student Council and College and batch representatives for next year. Im really excited kasi this is my first time to vote ng general elections. Nung frosh elections, I really feel na nagkamali ako sa boto ko, kasi parang minadali ko lang yung pagpili ng candidates, kaya ngaun I make sure na sigurado yung candidates na boboto ko.

Honestly, Im a member of both parties. Pero I want to clarify nga hindi ako hardcore Santugon or Tapat. Sabi ko nga im proud to be Santapat! Marami kasi nagsasabi na manok daw ako ng Santugon, pero I tell you that im really not.

Actually nakavote na rin ako.. and gusto ko lang ishare HOW I voted…

THE INTERVIEW

Anyway, what I do first is interview ko sina Tapat’ s Joan Mabilangan(Catch2t11 LA Rep) and Tinaii Umali(Catch2t11 Batch rep) and Santugon’s Diane Lim(Catch2t11 LA rep)..

Simple lang naman questions ko.. 3 questions and here are their answers..

(T-Tapat, S-Santugon >>my comment<<)

1. If ever you win, what can change(especially in CCS) can you see after one year?

T: there will be monitors around DLSU showing yung mga current and upcoming activities sa DLSU, para hindi na magtatanong palagi yung mga students, and for the benefit of persons na hindi nakakabukas ng mga msg sa yahoo groups.

>>They mean ‘multimedia based announcing system imbis na poster lang’.. hmmm..<<

2. If ever you lose, what will you do after the elections?

T: Well try to join the BA(batch assembly) or kung hindi matangap well help  na magtrain na lang kami ng bagong student leaders

S: I will stay active and baka apply sa CSA(computer studies assembly)

>>good..<<

3.Give us ONLY ONE reason why we should vote for you?

T: “for student rights!”

S: “because SANTUGON serves the student body, not the political party were in”

>>basically, parehas naman sagot nila…<<

>>Ill explain later why did I ask this questions..<<

>>meron pa ako ibang questions sa kanila pero ito kasi yung prehas na tinanong ko sa kanila<<

THE ASSESSMENT

Here ill explain how did I vote.. *mga hardcore tapat at santugon dyan.. ulitin ko lang THIS IS MY BELIEF and wala ako pakialam sa belief niyo!

1. I AM A CANDIDATE VOTER AND NOT A PARTY VOTER

Sinsabi nila parati vote derecho or straight. The benefits of voting straight or derecho is that pagsamasama sila mas madali makagaw ng mga projects, whereas kung halo, tapos kunwari nagpropose ng project yung isa, then kokontrahin naman ng isang candidate kung bakit pa kailangan gawin yung project na yun na hindi naman kailangan. So yun nga I didn’t vote straight or derecho, but it voted “chopsuey”. Actually 2-2 sa batch then 3-3 sa EB, tapos syempre yung CAP. Pero I voted the candidate and not for the party kasi for the following reason below//

2. I VOTED FOR THE CANDIDATE’S OWN PERSPECTIVE AND NOT OF THE PARTY’S OWN BELIEFS AND PLATFORMS

Paminsan kasi  kahit sabihin mo maganda yung platform ng isang party, pero bigla naman walang kwenta yung candidate nila, then why should you then vote for him/her? There is a possibility then na panget nga yung platform pero tama naman yung thinking ng candidate na yun sa isang situation, why not vote for him and her?

3. I VOTED FOR THE CANDIDATE WHO IS RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH

I think it is really an advantage for me na im an officer in our batch, kasi more likely kilala ko halos lahat ng mga candidates na kailangan ko iboto. I know how they work and who is the responsible and deserving enough to be voted.

4. I VOTED FOR THE CANDIDATE WHO CAN MAKE A CHANGE

Kaya tinanong ko yung question ko kanina yung #1, kasi gusto ko is a candidate who doesn’t only do projects that is only for short term purposes, but candidates who can make a difference hindi lang for a year but also until matapos yung term nila. Alam mo yun yung mga taong that leaves a great legacy behind that all persons can remember, and what they do is something can benefit the current students and also the next generation.

5. I VOTED FOR THE CANDIDATE WHO DOESN’T STOP PURSUING THEIR GOALS EVEN THEY LOSE

My second question is about this. Sabi nga ng Comelec, hindi mo kailangan magkaroon ng position to make a change, you as a simple student can do it.

6.I VOTED FOR THE CANDIDATE NA HINDI NANINIRA NG IBANG KAMPO

7. I VOTED FOR THE CANDIDATE WHO DOES WANT TO SERVE THE STUDENTS

I want leaders who know what servant leadership is. It means that you should serve the students, and the students should not serve you!  I want a person who is always ready to help some when they need something and a person who is approachable.

Grabe,Im really excited what will be the results of the election. Sigurado aabangan ito kasi nga for the past few years tuloy tuloy yung sweep ng Tapat sa Executive Board. But it stop last year kasi nakapasok si Stacy Carbonel from Santugon na VP Operations and Communications. I really feel na something will happen this election. Sabi nga rin ng isang higher batch na narinig ko, after 5 years ngaun lang nagsalita ng todo ang santugon, pero she feel na nasobrahan din naman ata ang santugon. Ang lakas din ng labanan ni Xt Chiu and Gil Bautista for CCS CAP. Hmmm…

I remember sa isang issue ng Lasallian last year, if you don’t vote, you have no right na magreklamo kung magkaroon ng problem and tayu rin maapektuhan nito eventually.

gusto ko yung mga sinulat mo, tama, students should learn to be critical thinkers, and vote for who THEY think is best for THEM :)
