wahaha.. nakigulo ako sa Tapat and Santugon that day..
actually marami pa rin ako dapart gawin nung araw na yun, pero i still went sa school..
first stop is yung debate and open forum..
on the 'blue corner'->santugon are agnes>>sc president, aimee chua>> vp academics, and a LA rep..
and on the 'red corner' orange?!->tapat are nicole villarojo>> sc president, anil ratachandani>>vp academics and also a LA rep from CCS..
The debate was divided into 3 issues, school issue, national issue and international issue.
super brief summary lang ng debate..
The school issue which was debated by the two LA representatives is about the University Rental Fees.. Tapat believe that the Rental Fees should not be implemented because it suppress the rights of the students. On the other hand, Santugon said that the Rental Fee is really there since 1980s and the students do not know it in the past.
Then the national issue which was debated by the two running VP for Academics is about the calling of a new People Power Revolution. Tapat believe that ousting the president is not the solution for the problem of our country right now. Santugon is also against impeachment and they only want is to call for the truth.
The international issue was about the extrajudicial killings and of putting economic sanctions in our countrywhich was debated by the two sc presidents. Tapat said that the government only suppresses the activist groups and that the government is not longer protecting the people. Santugon stand is that giving economic sanctions does only give us another problem.
Then after nun nagkaroon ng open forum , where peope are given chances to question the executive board of each party. Sayang lang talaga kasi super ikli ng time and konti lang din yung tinanong..
Anyway, we had lunch then next stop is the miting de avance..
At the miting de avance.. all CAPs or College Assembly President are given 5 minutes each to say anything they want to, including presenting their platforms and introducing their batch level officers. Pagdating naman sa EB>>executive board, they are given 8 minutes each to say anything they want to..
OK, clarify ko lang ulit.. even though im a santugon and tapat member, I AM NOT A DERECHO SANTUGON OR STRAIGHT TAPAT ‘VOTER’. Kaya nga I attend the debate and forum to assess who is the person I should vote. Marami kasing tao ang nagsasabi na “manok” daw ako ng santugon and I assure you that im definitely not. Actually, iniiwasan ko nga magsuot ng shirt with shade of blue, yellow, orange, black at red! I don’t really want to be mark as a supporter of any party. Yun nga maganda dun na parang neutral ka, kasi lahat ng tao bati mo. Paminsan kasi pagsupporter ka ng isang party, hindi mo na kinakausap yung mga taong na nasa kabila. anyway, I AM ALSO NOT A PARTY VOTER BUT A CANDIDATE VOTER. I vote for the person and not for their platform na pamisan (or karaniwan) hindi naman nila tinutupad! Siguro its also an advantage for me that I am an officer in our batch, kasi halos kilala ko rin lahat ng tatakbong candidates, and I know who they are and how they work.
God bless na lang sa lahat ng candidates!
