GK Baseco Christmas Party!!! 12/15/07

Yes sa wakas! Nagkaroon din ako ng first project ko as AVP Socio-Civic ng DLSU Catch2t11 Batch Assembly! Gawad Kalinga is an organization where they build houses in for our poor fellow brothers ansd sisters. They builded houses in the Baseco, Tondo area when a fire burned all the houses in that area . nakakatuwa nga kasi pareparehas yung mga houses dun, tapos ang sarap talaga ng atmosphere dun (parang gusto ko na nga tumira dun eh..) that place is divide into small villages or clusters which are named before the company or the person who sponsored them, for example, there is a SMART village, Oishi, P&G, Unilever, and others..

Anyway, DLSU sponsored some villages and these villages are those people na hindi daw nakakatikim ng Christmas Party. Each college is assigned to sponsor 1 village and our village is the CFC or the Couple For Christ village.

Kasama ko si Trisha Jarabelo, VP Issues and Advocacy and we got there mga 1pm na ata. Nagkaroon ng program, there are games and presentation of different villages and raffles of Noche Buena packages or Christmas baskets. Nakakatuwa nga kasi we’ve donated 3 baskets *actually hindi baskets, timba,* 2 from the Batch Assembly and 1 from our section s20. Actually, dapat 4 na timba, kaso ayaw na ng batch pres namin kasi ok na daw yung tatlo. Actually din kasi isa Christmas basket lang ang pinapadala pero we’ve donated 3, the fact na frosh (freshmen) lang kami.. yaman!

Grabe, super kakaibang experience talaga, we’ve met a lot of people from DLSU. Nakita naming sina Ate Unyx, Catch2t9 LA(Legislative assembly) Representative, Ate Inna, CSA(Computer Studies Assembly) AVP Socio-Civic and other people, pero yung pinakamalupit na nakilala ako is Ate Noey Arcinue, DLSU Student Council President! Wahahaha! Hindi ko talaga akalain na kinakausap niya ako! ;P . I’ve met also yung GK founder, Tony Meloto and people from UP Los Baños(UPLB). Nakakatuwa talaga when the maroons and the archers meet, sabi ko nga sa basketball lang sila nagaaway, eh.. 

I got also a lot of pictures, especially irony photos taken by Trish, like a house with full appliances, tv, cd players at iba pa. Kaloko nga mas mayaman pa sila sa amin.

Super busog din ako that day, maya maya inom ng softdrinks, tapos kain diyan then kain doon, tataba siguro ako pagdito ako tumira.. hmmmmm..

Mga 6pm na yata kami umalis at thank you talaga sa UPLB kasi hinatid pa nila kami sa DLSU. Like what I said, super pagod, pero super saya!!!

Sana tuloy-tuloy na yung projects ko! Kasi goal ko talaga is at least 1 project per term, pero at least pahinga na muna ako sa B.A., sa January na ulit balik trabaho! Hehe..
