The 12 Days of Christmas

Haha! Its Christmas na nga.. you can hear lots of christmas songs sa tv, radio, even sa mga LRT stations! And one these songs is the the 12 days of Christmas.. do you know that 12 days of Christmas has a meaning? Yup! Its not just an ordinary Christmas song and I will tell you about it..

 

The History        

                The song was actually made by the Catholics but as Christians we could also apply it to our own lives. It was made in England somewhat between 1558 to 1824, because in this time the people are not allowed to read the Bible, go to church and do other things related to their religion. Because this is song is also parang walang kabuluhan sa government ng England (walang pakialam yung government dun sa song and they didn’t understand the true meaning of it), so they sang the song as much as they want.

 

The Meaning

                The  start of the song goes like this, “On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me…” The “true love” there symbolizes God and the “me” is everyone of us. So on the song, the “true love” sent gifts to “me” so in other words.. the song speaks about the twelve gifts that God has given us..

 

1^st day- Partridge in a Pear Tree

                A partridge is a kind of bird that will risk even her own life just to protect her eggs from predators. The partridge symbolizes Jesus Christ who risked His life just to save us from Hell. The pear tree symbolizes the cross, so in other words it symbolizes the gift of God which is Jesus that is crucified in the cross.

 

2^nd day- Two turtle doves

                It symbolizes the two divisions of the Bible, the Old and New Testament.

 

3^rd day- Three French hens

                It symbolizes the 3 things that the Holy Spirit has given us according to 1 Cor.13:13 which is faith hope, love(charity).

 

4^th day- Four Calling Birds

                It symbolizes the four Gospel books in the New Testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Kaya calling birds kasi di ba Jesus told us in Matt.28:19-20 to go into all the world and teach all nations, that is calling or sharing the Gospel to other people.

 

5^th day- Five Golden Rings

                It symbolizes the first five books in the Old Testament, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. These books kasi contains the “golden” rules and laws of the Israelites.

 

6^th day- Six Geese a laying

                It symbolizes the six days of the Creation. Di ba pagnaglalay ang birds ng eggs nahihirapan sila then after nagpapahinga sila. So God created everything in 6 days and rested in the 7^th day of Creation.

 

7^th day- Seven swans a swimming

                It symbolizes the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit to us that we could use according to Rom 12:6-8, prophecy, ministry, teaching, exhortation(encouraging), giving with simplicity, ruling with diligence, and showing mercy with cheerfulness.

8^th day- Eight maids a milking

                It symbolizes the beatitudes of Jesus in Mat 5:3-11. Actually, 9 yun lahat pero yung 8 and 9 kasi ay pwede gawin isa na lang.

 

9^th day- Nine ladies dancing

                It symbolizes the fruits of the Holy Spirit in Gal 5:22-23, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness self-control.

 

10^th day- Ten lords a leaping

                It symbolizes the 10 commandments which are the “lords” or the main laws in the Bible.

 

11^th day- Eleven Pipers piping

                It symbolizes the 11 disciples who were loyal to Jesus. Actually, jesus had 12 disciples, kaso one betrayed Him, si Judas.

 

12^th day- Twelve drummers drumming

 

The last gift symbolizes the 12 beliefs in the Apostle Creed:

1. Belief in God the Father

2. Belief in Jesus Christ

3. Belief in  the Holy Spirit

4. Belief that Jesus is born with Mary

5. Belief that Jesus became man

6. Belief that Jesus was crucified

7. Belief that Jesus died

8. Belief that Jesus arose from the dead

9. Belief that Jesus sits now at the right hand of God

10. Belief that Jesus is coming again

Course Card Distribution Day && s20 Block Lunch! 12/18/07

Wohoo! It’s the judgement day.. nakakakaba sobra.. tapos late pa ako nagising that day.. first stop kasi FWDANCE @ 7am-9am.. eh, si Sir Ronda pa naman yun, strict sa time, 8am na ko nakarating, pero ok naman.. nakakaloko nga kasi kwento ni angelo, maaga daw sina rey,6:30am na dun na ata, pinagalitan daw ni sir ronda, sabi, “matuto naman kayu ng tardiness!” O_o si ronda, ikaw ba yan?! Haha!

After ng FWdance, 1pm pa sunod.. dapat pala ngaun kami nagplan ng outing kahit mga 4 hours lang.. anyway,kaya yun ikot ikot na lang sa dlsu hangang mag12pm para sa s20 block lunch sa mildreds.. nakakatuwa kasi binilang ko halos 30 out of 41 nandun..

Kakaiba talaga reaction ng mga tao.. me super saya, super lungkot, meron napapaiyak, yung iba tahimik lang.. hayyy.. hindi ko alam kun dapat ba ako matuwa or malungkot.. naawa nga ako dun sa isang teacher ko si sir rigs sa algebra, kasi habang nagsusulat siya ng grade nanginginig siya, tapos titignan ka muna niya bago niya ibigay sayo yung card mo, especially yung mga bagsak, makikita mo dun sa eyes niya na naawa din siya dun sa mga bagsak..

Tinatanong ko nga kung DL(dean’s lister) yun, eh, kaso, yung alge ko at programming ay mga inulit ko na subjects.. yung soctec ko muntikan na rin mag1.5 lang.. winawala kasi nina erasga yung papers namin.. buti na lang meron ako soft copy,chineck niya ulit.. pero sana talaga DL kahit this term lang..

Anyway, to those people that have failed subjects.. don’t worry, its not the end of the world.. sabi nga ng professor ng friend ko.. “Slow learners, are the best learners!”

Naalala ko tuloy yung sinabi ko sa s20 nung 1st term..

GK Baseco Christmas Party!!! 12/15/07

Yes sa wakas! Nagkaroon din ako ng first project ko as AVP Socio-Civic ng DLSU Catch2t11 Batch Assembly! Gawad Kalinga is an organization where they build houses in for our poor fellow brothers ansd sisters. They builded houses in the Baseco, Tondo area when a fire burned all the houses in that area . nakakatuwa nga kasi pareparehas yung mga houses dun, tapos ang sarap talaga ng atmosphere dun (parang gusto ko na nga tumira dun eh..) that place is divide into small villages or clusters which are named before the company or the person who sponsored them, for example, there is a SMART village, Oishi, P&G, Unilever, and others..

Anyway, DLSU sponsored some villages and these villages are those people na hindi daw nakakatikim ng Christmas Party. Each college is assigned to sponsor 1 village and our village is the CFC or the Couple For Christ village.

Kasama ko si Trisha Jarabelo, VP Issues and Advocacy and we got there mga 1pm na ata. Nagkaroon ng program, there are games and presentation of different villages and raffles of Noche Buena packages or Christmas baskets. Nakakatuwa nga kasi we’ve donated 3 baskets *actually hindi baskets, timba,* 2 from the Batch Assembly and 1 from our section s20. Actually, dapat 4 na timba, kaso ayaw na ng batch pres namin kasi ok na daw yung tatlo. Actually din kasi isa Christmas basket lang ang pinapadala pero we’ve donated 3, the fact na frosh (freshmen) lang kami.. yaman!

Grabe, super kakaibang experience talaga, we’ve met a lot of people from DLSU. Nakita naming sina Ate Unyx, Catch2t9 LA(Legislative assembly) Representative, Ate Inna, CSA(Computer Studies Assembly) AVP Socio-Civic and other people, pero yung pinakamalupit na nakilala ako is Ate Noey Arcinue, DLSU Student Council President! Wahahaha! Hindi ko talaga akalain na kinakausap niya ako! ;P . I’ve met also yung GK founder, Tony Meloto and people from UP Los Baños(UPLB). Nakakatuwa talaga when the maroons and the archers meet, sabi ko nga sa basketball lang sila nagaaway, eh.. 

I got also a lot of pictures, especially irony photos taken by Trish, like a house with full appliances, tv, cd players at iba pa. Kaloko nga mas mayaman pa sila sa amin.

Super busog din ako that day, maya maya inom ng softdrinks, tapos kain diyan then kain doon, tataba siguro ako pagdito ako tumira.. hmmmmm..

Mga 6pm na yata kami umalis at thank you talaga sa UPLB kasi hinatid pa nila kami sa DLSU. Like what I said, super pagod, pero super saya!!!

Sana tuloy-tuloy na yung projects ko! Kasi goal ko talaga is at least 1 project per term, pero at least pahinga na muna ako sa B.A., sa January na ulit balik trabaho! Hehe..

wahaha.. what a day!
first of all we had our last finals this friday sa algebra..
grabe kung dati paminsan ako yung nauuna magsend ng test
kabaliktaran naman ngaun
ako yun isa sa mga huli ng send..
naloko kasi ako sa isang question at hindi ko masagutan..
6 pointa lang naman.. pero pinagiisipan ko siya ng halos 45 minutes+..
pero sarap ng feeling last day of school!!! wheee!!!
wala na ko problemahin pa!!

anyway..
its fellowship again sa LHA..
aka christmas party..
nakita ko na naman yung mga NSC people
and yung mga miss ko na staff like mam weng and the others..

pagdating ko dun as in super gutom na ko kasi hindi pa ko naglunch
nakarating na ko dun mga 2pm na..
kaya pakapalan na lang ng mukha at kumuha pa rin ako ng pagkain kahit wala na kumakain at lahat naglalaro na.. wahaha!!!

anyway, nakhabol pa rin naman ako sa games

My Answer: God does have a plan on each one of us. He knows how long we should live and when we will die. Therefore, if it is our time to die, we cant stop God for it. God also answers prayers in three ways.. YES, NO, WAIT.. so not all our requests to God may always be granted or sometimes we should wait for it..

My Answer: yup, that is right God created Lucifer (a.k.a Satan).. BUT like people, God created His angels with their own choice. God didn’t made us to be like robots.. kunwari sabihin ni God go there, do this and that, then we will say.. “Yes Sir”, yun nga God give us and the angels the freedom to choose whether they will obey or NOT.. So Satan choose to disobey God kaya yun ang nangyrai.

My Answer: bakit nga ba me sakit sorrows and everything??? that is because of our SIN.. when God created Adam and Eve.. they have no problems.. walang sakit, walang  anger, wala lahat na masasamang bagay kasi God created all things perfect. Just what I have said sa 2^nd question,because God creted us with our own will to have achoice, they (adam and eve) choose to disobey God, so therefore,God punishes them(and us) with these things.

CCS Cosplay! 11/19/07

wheee! one of the major activities brought to you by catch2t11 batch assembly.. hehe.. succesful naman siya.. kaso kulang lang talaga siguro sa preparations.. bawi sa next activity.. we have only 7 contestants.. pero ok pa rin.. *sorry for the blurry pictures i dont know what is happenning to my cam.. huhu

CWTS 2nd Community exposure 11/17/07

Kung yung unang community exposure naming ay ang lakas ng ulan.. this 2nd exposure naming ayos na ayos ang weather! Haha! Pagdating naming dun, we’ve presented to our host community our project proposals for them. Then after nun balik ulit sa mga host families namin. Sayang talaga wala yung host family naming that day at nasa province daw. Pero still nandun yung isa pa nilang kasama sa bahay kubo nila. Nagdala ako ng some decorations, then nagdecorate kami ni denise sa bahay nila. After nun, dumaan kami sa bahay nina Ian yung apo ng host family naming where we ive some gifts aka a punching bag(which he wanted) and a book of bugtong that ive found dito sa bahay, kasi mahilig siya magbasa. Then, punta naman kami dun kina chaw.. pagdating ko dun tinuturuan nila yung mga bata ng swing.. *haha me vdeo ako na kumekembot si rey.. whooo.. :P after ng sayaw, tinuruan ko naman yung mga bata na gumawa ng parol.. actually yung mga things na ginamit ko pinagpupulot ko lang sa bahay namin.. and that morning ko lang naisip na turuan ko sila..hehe..

SAYANG talaga yung uwian na.. inaabangan ko pa naman yung JEEP WARS part2.. kaso hindi natuloy.. huhu.. :( anyway, bawi sa next term sa nstp-c2.. hehe..

Natuwa din ako sa araw na ito.. I’ve saw many different animals.. pigs, pigs, and more pigs!!! Ducks, roosters, chickens, dogs, cats.. haha! *pero da best pa rin ang baboy!! Oinky oinky!! :))

CWTS Class && Lunch @ Jollibee 10/03/07

ito yung pinagagawa ng s20 sa cwts class nung last sat..
pinadrawing kami ng picture ng isang developed community..
using crayons and marker..
*wheeee! namiss ko tuloy maging bata ulit.. hehe..

then, lunch sa jollibee..
tapos ayan yung pinagagagawa nina bryan na jollibee recycled robot made out of styro, forks and other stuffs..
tsk tsk tsk..
hehe.. :))

awww.. what a sad day in dlsu..
for the first time hindi ako pumunta ng u-break..
*pero actually tahimik yung u-break,ah..
himala.. hindi naman activity ban or something..
tapos hindi pa dineclare na half day man lang..
kasi paghalf day, wala din kami pasok kasi puro hapon pasok namin :(
