DLSU student is RP's latest A(H1N1) case - DOH

MANILA, Philippines - The number of people infected with the deadly Influenza A(H1N1) virus in the Philippines has climbed to 22 with the addition of another one, Health secretary Francisco Duque III said Wednesday.

In a press conference, Duque said the latest confirmed case was a foreign exchange student from the De La Salle University (DLSU) in Taft Avenue, Manila.

Following the discovery, classes in DLSU would be suspended for 10 days from June 4 to 14, Duque said.

Duque advised all the school students, particularly those who came in close contact with the infected student, to observe self quarantine and avoid malls and other crowded places. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV

  18. masyadong media hype yang Influenza type A H1N1. a certain student ba naman from CSB quoted "if they catch it they're dead"....tapos highlighted pa ng GMA News sa web. eh hello Mayo clinic nga announced that its just a mild form (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IA6Ljb4K18U). last year alone, ordinary flu killed 36,000 in US, na media hype ba? as long as you have a strong immune system, eventually you will develop the antibodies against it, you won't die but just have mild fever. someone will die if immunocompromised. ofcourse precautionary measures are always important, pero sobrang hype talaga. mas nakakatakot at totoong nakamamatay ang dengue - four strains pa ito ha.

  19. hindi flu yan, flu typically lasts only 5-7 days even up to 10 days for complete recovery. you must be stressed baka palagi kang puyat. kapag may ubo ka at one month na, you probably have a mild respiratory bacterial infection.
